Offline Mode for Drivers in Dead Zones

The primary goal of this feature is to ensure that drivers can continue executing delivery transactions from their assigned delivery list, based on the latest mobile data cached before losing internet connectivity. The application must remain functional even when drivers are operating in areas with limited or no network coverage.

In offline mode, the system should allow drivers to perform essential delivery activities, including updating delivery transaction data, capturing and storing Proof of Delivery (POD) photos, collecting customer signatures (when required), and maintaining delivery records locally on the device. All data should be securely stored and synchronized automatically once an internet connection becomes available.

Pain factor

• Truck drivers frequently operate in remote locations where internet connectivity is unstable or unavailable. These connectivity challenges can disrupt delivery workflows and delay critical transaction updates.

To ensure uninterrupted delivery operations and maintain on-time delivery performance, the LogKar Driver application must provide reliable offline functionality. Drivers should be able to complete delivery transactions without depending on a continuous internet connection, while ensuring that all delivery data is preserved and synchronized when connectivity is restored.

The Offline Update feature aims to:

• Enable drivers to record delivery transaction activities and store Proof of Delivery (POD) data while offline.

• Provide offline navigation capabilities using maps that have been downloaded before the driver enters an offline area.

• Allow delivery documentation, including photos and supporting evidence, to be captured and stored locally without an internet connection.

• Ensure seamless and reliable synchronization of all offline data once the driver reconnects to the network.

• Minimize operational disruptions caused by poor network coverage and improve the overall delivery experience for drivers.
